The QUILTING BEE creates a space where we explore fabric as a creative and sustainable material. Each participant is encouraged to develop their own creative projects. Sashiko, appliqué, and embroidery are possible topics, as well as the use of classic block patterns and improvisation.
We meet to support and inspire each other. I am happy to share my experience as a visual artist and men's tailor. Needles, scissors, cutter and my Pfaff Ambition, if it should go faster, iron, my extensive Marti Michell patchwork stencil collection, cutting materials and my books on the subject can be used on site as well, if needed.
The Quilting Bee is accompanied with special workshops that dive deeper into the individual craft traditions or focus on ways of improvisation and unlearning.
