Re-Fashion - T-shirts with Felicity Brown

With a focus on creativity, handwork, and sustainability, the workshop will focus on teaching textile surface design options such as deconstruction and reconstruction of garments.
Using a selection of interesting fabrics and sewing materials, we will learn how to create our own design for a t-shirt. We will support participants through a selection of fashion design methods and craft techniques.
This workshop will be led by Felicity Brown and Carolin Kropff. Felicity is an artist based in Norwich, UK. She studied fine art and textile printing at the Glasgow School of Art and the Royal College of Art in London. She has worked for couture fashion houses in Europe and developed her own collections with the British Fashion Council. She has exhibited her fashion designs internationally, such as at the Victoria & Albert Museum in London and the Simone Handbag Museum in Seoul, South Korea.
She is a lecturer in Fashion and Textile Design at Norwich University of the Arts, in both BA and Masters programs, where she develops innovative workshops for students.
Carolin Kropff studied at the Kunstakademie Düsseldorf and the Städelschule Frankfurt am Main and previously worked at the theater in Dortmund as a men's tailor and costume assistant. She is the founder of STUDIOSPACE Lange Strasse 31 and has exhibited nationally and internationally, including the Sharjah Art Museum, UAE, and MACS - Museum of Contemporary Art in Sorocaba, Brazil.
The two artists have been working closely together since 2015. In 2017, they traveled together to New Mexico for their Being Eve Journey.
